We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month:
- the 2nd Tuesday meetings of the month are for relatives/carers/friends and people with eating disorders (it is important to emphasise that all are welcome whether or not you are accompanied by a relative/friend)
- the 4th Tuesday meetings of the month are for people with eating disorders only.
The meetings start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.00pm, however, we open the doors at 7.20pm and offer a hot drink and an opportunity to have an informal chat.
There are two facilitators in each group. Our role is to give some structure to the conversation/discussion. We are not in the role of being experts and are unable to offer treatment, counselling or therapy. We may be able to point you in the right direction for this sort of help.
The group hopes to provide you with an opportunity to meet other people who may be in an similar situation to yourself and to give you a chance to share experiences or just to listen to others. Want to know more! Check out our Peer Support Page!
We are located at Victoria Methodist Church, 1A Whiteladies Road, BS8 1NU, Bristol. MAP
IGNORE THE SIGN OUTSIDE OF THE CHURCH SAYING THAT IT IS NOW CLOSED! THE GROUP IS NOW ACCESSED BY THE PATH TO THE RIGHT OF THE CHURCH AS YOU LOOK AT IT. YOU NEED TO GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PATH AND THE ENTRY IS THE DOOR ON THE RIGHT. PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON THIS PATH AS IT IS STEEP AND POTENTIALLY SLIPPERY.
There is usually a board marked "BEAT" outside indicating the way. Ring the bell and we will let you in.
No registration or booking is required, the group meetings are open to anyone (males and females) aged 18 and over so please feel free to attend as many or few meetings as you wish. Please feel free to simply turn up on the night.
We hope the above information was helpful and answers your questions regarding the groups. However, if you wish to know more visit our FAQ page or contact us via the contact page.
